For a nice technical article on SSDs (and interestingly enough, a CF adapter if you're curious about the CF adapters for that addtronics unit mentioned above):

Good tips, Johnny! We've already paid for the SDI cables - it was only $50 for the rental, so not a huge deal, but great to know for the future.

SSD RAIDs sound drool-worthy - but I think I'll wait until prices come down a bit further.

Oh also wanted to mention... you can run SDI over 'standard' BNC cable without problems - don't let the fine print burn you out. I've done it hundreds of times. The cable manufacturers just want to make double their money to broadcasters! Although I never cheap out on BNC cable at the same time. One word. Canare. thats quality.

Hi Momo

I've been researching the 'small cheap SSD' thing myself, and I would like to tip you on this: There are now several enclosures available for multi 2.5" drive raids -- check it out! so, not only can you get more cheap SSD space, you can raid them for wicked throughput!
